The 2008 Honda S2000 is a milestone in that maker's lineup. The sports car
has all of the streamlined, aerodynamic design, akin to the Mitsubishi Eclipse
Spyder, that a buyer could ever want. The performance is unbeatable for the
price, and the car is simply "cool." Honda has created a lightweight, super
fast, incredibly stylish sports car. They have accomplished the dreams of many
makers.
Even though the S2000 only has a 2.2L 4-cylinder engine, it produces a whopping
237 horsepower. The 6-speed manual transmission gives drivers the ability to
control each and every gearshift, which means higher speeds in faster time. The
double wishbone suspension brings to mind agile racecars. Also, for those into
street racing, the Honda S2000 does not redline until 8000rpm.
The fuel capacity is 13.2 gallons. With an estimated fuel economy of 18 city MPG
and 25 highway MPG, this little racecar ranks pretty high in sports car gas
mileage. However, buyers may be turned off a bit by the required premium
gasoline. Inside, Honda left no stone unturned and created a pureblood racecar.
Two-toned bucket seats with a storage console between create an environment
meant for street racing. On the exterior chiseled features and a raised rear end
give it a presence like no other. It is hard to keep your eyes off such an
attractive vehicle. Available with a rear spoiler, the S2000 looks like it is
ready to take flight and cruise past jets with ease.
Ultimately, if a buyer is looking for an affordable sports car, a car where he
or she gets more bang for the buck, the 2008 Honda S2000 is it. With the S2000,
Honda has mastered the art of producing a fine automobile with an even better
price. With a base MSRP of $34,500, the S2000 is an excellent alternative for
those with Porsche tastes, but not the dough to back it up. If a buyer is
looking to go green, the Honda S2000 has been awarded a "low emission vehicle"
rating from the California Air Resources Board.
