The 2007 Honda Element comes with a 166 horsepower in-line 4-cylinder engine,
with a 5-speed manual transmission as the standard, though automatic is
available. 2-wheel drive is standard for the line, but the LX and EX are both
available with 4-wheel drive as well.
Like the more compact Honda CR-V, the Element has a five-star crash-test rating
from NCAP, though its rollover rating is only three stars. It still boasts all
of Honda's standard safety features, however, including side impact door beams,
front and front side air bags, and side curtain airbags with rollover sensors,
as well as anti-lock breaks, traction control, and 3-point seat-belts at all
seating positions.
Standard exterior features include side cargo doors, intermittent windshield
wipers, remote entry, and power side mirrors, as well as green-tinted window
glass, and privacy glass for the rear. In addition, 4-wheel drive models are
available with a removable skylight.
Power windows and door locks, air conditioning, and rear ventilation windows are
standard on all the 2007 Honda Element's trim levels, though vanity mirrors are
not. Other interior features include lower instrument panel storage
compartments, cup holders, and at least one power outlet. Map lights are
available on higher trim levels.
