The 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 4WD pickup offers buyers something that the Sierra has
never offered before: a very nice interior filled with high-quality materials.
In the past the Sierra was made on the inside like a child's toy; now it is made
for adults who appreciate at least a little luxury. When you put that together
with the already very impressive exterior and drivetrain, you end up with one of
the best pickup truck options on the market.
The 2009 Sierra has undergone a full redesign for the new year. It features a
rugged new frame and enhanced steering and suspension systems. It handles better
than before and provides more comfort for both drivers and passengers. There are
also new features for safety including electronic stability control and side
curtain bags. From average family consumers to contractors, this truck aims to
please - and it is doing so very effectively.
As with its competition, the 2009 Sierra 4WD 1500 comes available in many
body/cabin configurations. Optional features on the inside make it comfortable
and elegant enough to stand up to many luxury-based sedans. It has a slightly
more upscale design on the outside than does its corporate brother, the Chevy
Silverado.
This GMC Sierra is a half-ton pickup truck comes available in 3 body styles:
Standard, Extended and Crew. The standard cab can be crafted with either a
6-foot 6-inch or 8-foot bed. Extended cab models have a shorter (5-foot, 8-inch)
bed available as well as the other two sizes. Crew cabs come only with the
shortest bed length in order to allow efficient maneuverability.
Trims levels include the Work and SLE for Regular cab models, a SLT trim that's
quite plush for both the Extended and Crew cab models, and both the SL and
Denali trims for the Crew cabs only. Trim dependent, the 2009 Sierra 4WD can get
as elegant as you like with optional and standard features including remote
engine starting, leather seating, OnStar roadside assistance, 12-way
adjustable/heated seating, rain-sensing wipers and much more. It all depends on
your needs, desires and willingness to spend.
The 2009 Sierra Denali 4WD comes with a unique on-road-biased suspension system,
specialized wheels, heated steering wheel and OnStar with turn-by-turn
navigation - all features that really add a touch of refinement. There is also
an array of tow packages available including the famous Z71 Off-Road Package
that has skid plates and a locking rear differential. Additionally, the Sierra
can be ordered with 20 or 22-inch wheels, enhanced sound, Bluetooth capability,
powered mirrors that fold in and rear backing cameras. In essence, these trucks
can go from the basic work model to having just about anything that you can
imagine.
There are also 5 engine choices for buyers to consider. The base engine is a
4.3L 195hp V6, but upgrades can push those numbers up to a 6.2L 403hp V8 on the
Denali. All Sierra trims come with a 4-speed automatic transmission with a
tow/haul mode. Of course, the Denali is available with a 6-speed tranny as well.
Depending on which drivetrain you select, you can expect to get anywhere from 14
to 17 mpg (combined city/highway ratings) .
Overall, the 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 4WD pickup truck is probably the most
versatile truck available on the planet today. There are just so many options
available for personalization that it's impossible to list them all. Whatever
you desire can be created for you. The redesign is more rugged, and more
refined, then all previous models. This year's Sierra is well worth serious
consideration from all potential truck buyers.
