The lineup for the 2009 Ford F-150 Styleside 2WD full-sized pickup truck
includes over 75 variations available. The line begins with MSRPs below $20,000
and climbs up to the mid 30s. These F-150s can play as well as they can work -
and owners love to make them do both. Three engines and two transmissions are
offered. The engines are a 4.2 V6, a 4.6L V8 and a 5.4L V8. Base trim fuel
economy ratings are at 14/19 mpg city/highway - the lowest in the class,
although by very little.
The exterior has been freshened for 2009 and some say that the conservative
approach is somewhat unimaginative. Like you would expect - others love it. Even
the base trim offers a fair number of standard features and there is plenty of
room for customization here. Several cab styles and bed lengths are also
available for the 2009 F-150 2WD Styleside truck. The F-150 line also features
more bed depth than most of its competitors.
The realm of pickup truck design is somewhat limited. You basically have three
boxes to work with: 1 for the engine, 1 for the cabin and 1 more for the bed.
For over 70 years, Ford has been working with different mixes of these space
constraints. The Ford F-150 Styleside 2WD is a conservatively-designed truck
that offers considerable utility and appreciable style. It is great for a muddy
job site or even a weekend cruise on the strip.
Ford trucks have a very good reputation for reliability and solid performance.
Customer loyalty continues to keep Ford in the race for the top spot year after
year - even in times when many are opting for smaller, more fuel-efficient
vehicles. There will always be a pickup truck segment though - and Ford will
always be there sharing the lead. The F-150 Styleside 2WD by Ford offers more
cargo area than does its brother, the Flareside. Styleside basically signifies a
box with a few well-placed lines of character.
On the inside, the 2009 F-150 2WD is available in many different designs,
patterns, feature combos and the like. The cabins are rated to be considerably
quiet and comfortable. There are also 3 separate gauge clusters available to
select from as well. The control mechanisms are kept simplistic and accessible.
One nice feature is that most of the interior features will remain operational
even with the key removed for a given time period. That eliminates the maddening
"can't roll my window up" after the engine has been cut off.
The system for navigation is receiving rave reviews. It works flawlessly and
easily. The learning curve is small and the feature list is large. If anything
is wrong at all with it, it would be that the screen is just a bit on the small
side. A full-sized pickup should be spacious on the inside and the 2009 Ford
F-150 Styleside 2WD is sure to please. Even the Regular cab design has plenty of
space for 3 full-sized men to sit across the seat without having to feel like
they are in love with one another.
Overall, the 2009 Ford F-150 Styleside 2WD is a winner. It is tough, dependable,
a good value and comes with a nice selection of standard features. Test drive
your new Ford today! |
