The 2007 Ford Explorer's four models start with the XLT at $25,995 and progress
through the Eddie Bauer model ($28,995), the Limited ($32,095), and the Ironman
($27,490.) The Explorer offers room for five to seven occupants and is powered
by either a 4 liter V6 generating 210 horsepower as a five-speed automatic (15
mpg city / 21 highway) or a 4.6 liter V8 producing 292 as an automatic with six
speeds (15 city / 21 highway.)
With a wide range of comfort and convenience options, the Explorer features
independent front and rear suspension and 4x2 rear-wheel drive standard. Safety
measures include systems for stability control and roll over detection with
occupants covered by comprehensive airbag arrays. The steering column has been
engineered to absorb the force of an impact and the engine can be immobilized as
part of the included SecuriLock system. Entry via a remote is also standard and
in all models child seats are anchored with the industry standard LATCH system.
The 2007 Ford Explorer XLT and Eddie Bauer editions have a single CD player with
MP3 and AM/FM radio while an Audiophle Sound System with a changer in the dash
capable of holding six dics is standard on the Limited. An entertainment system
with DVD and an 8-inch screen is optional on all system as is a navigation
system and SIRIUS Satellite Radio. |
