The Chrysler 300 was born in 1979. On introduction it had a 360 cubic inch
engine, which was joined by an automatic 3 gear system. The vehicle on debut was
an entry level luxury vehicle, but was not a success and after a production run
of 3811 vehicles and one year the model was discontinued. In 1999, The 300 model
line was restarted by Chrysler. The new model was called the 300M, which was
front wheel drive, powered by a V6 engine. It was built on the Chrysler LH body.
The new 300M was a luxury car, which was powered by a manual system of shifting
gears. Also included in the lineup was a special version, which had body panels
made of carbon fiber, 18 inch tires, a more powerful engine and leather seats.
The 300M had nice interior and black switches on a white dashboard that made
reading the gauges easy day or night. The 300M has good heating and air
conditioning, and the headlights are placed in such a way that the oncoming
driver does not get distracted by the glare.
The third and current generation 300 model is a luxury car that hit the market
in 2005. The 300 has rear wheel drive and unlike other luxury cars is not very
costly. In the same cost bracket with the 300 is the Toyota Camry, which is by
far the better selling vehicle. The car is sold as both a sedan and station
wagon. There are five versions of The 300 on the market, a base version powered
by a 2.7 liter V6, a touring version with a 3.5 liter V6, a limited version with
the same engine as the touring as well as the 300C and SRT8 versions, which were
equipped with a 5.7 Liter Hemi Engine.
For the model year 2007, the Chrysler 300 comes in four types, the entry level
model, the 300, the Touring and the 300C. The entry level model has air
conditioning, a CD player, entry without keys and a tilt steering wheel. The
Touring has a bigger V6 engine, alloy tires and leather seats. The 300C has a
Verni V8, a Boston Sound system, mirrors that fold, seats made of premium
leather, and also headlights that dim or brighten according to the road
conditions. The top of the line SRT8 has 20 inch tires, and a system that
controls the stability of the vehicle. |
