The 2007 Cadillac Escalade is available as a two-wheel drive model with a 403
hp, 6.2-liter, Vortec V8 with a six-speed automatic transmission for $55,400.
The all-wheel drive with the same engine and transmission starts at $57,955.
Both have StabiliTrack, road sensing suspension, and rear park assist. Estimated
fuel economy is 13 mpg city and 19 highway with the AWD; 13/20 with 2WD.
Seating capacity varies. With a third-row, two-occupant bench the Escalade will
carry six; with second row buckets capacity jumps to seven; and with a
second-row bench it hits eight. Cargo space is 16.9 cubic feet behind the third
row, 60.3 behind the second, and 108.9 behind the first.
Look for a Bose 5.1 audio unit standard. You get surround sound with both CD and
DVD capacity as well as radio, noise compensating capability, and a changer in
the dash holding six discs. A DVD unit in the dash is also an option paired with
a flip down screen on the roof measuring eight inches. (You can also opt for a
rearview video camera.) XM Satellite Radio is included with a no obligation
service contract covering three months.
